Weekly Wrap (04/23)
I've been trying, with no help from the Cincinnati weather, to get acclimated to the heat. This means sometimes putting on as many as four layers on top, including my puffy jacket and rain jacket, two layers on bottom and full winter hat and gloves. The high temps ranged this week from 50º to 84º and let me tell you it was not exactly my favorite part of this training block.
I'm feeling the beginnings of some "taper tantrums". Feelings of training regret, weird niggles and even feeling like I'm just done with running and wondering why I'm signed up for this crazy race. Luckily, I snap out of that feeling pretty quickly.
I scheduled a PT session last week. That was good. I have another one scheduled this week before I fly out to Phoenix.
Basically, I just have some easy runs (more heat training) and lots of packing to do. Only one week left before the big adventure begins!
