My biggest ever training week! 94.2 miles and 14,252 feet of vert according to Strava.

The crazy thing is I took two full rest days!

I already wrote up a separate post about my three day training camp. It was epic. I also managed to get a steady workout and some easy miles. I think this training block has gone about as well as I could have hoped for. I won't say I'm fully tapering yet, but the next items to focus on will be heat adapting and finishing up my planning and logistics. There's a lot to do.

I might see my PT one or two times before the race to work out the very minor niggles and kinks. I will feel better knowing I did everything I could to "tune up" my body. Dry needling may not be a proven winner scientifically, but I like the way I feel afterwards and at this point I'm sticking to what seems to work well for me, science be damned.

My Three Day Training Camp

For my DIY training camp, I focused on long back-to-back-to-back runs with intentional short sleep and controlled efforts. With only 23 days until race week, this was my last big training effort. I think it went pretty well.

Weekly Wrap (04/02)

This was my lowest mileage week of the entire year so far, but still all part of the plan. After last weeks' 50 mile race I spent a lot of time walking and biking around Washington DC with my teenage son. I got some runs in, but generally took it easy.
