This was a race week but I still had to get a workout and some miles in before hand. I had a tight hamstring from last week that was still bothering me on my Tuesday workout. I didn't get all the steady state miles prescribed. That made me really want to see my PT before Friday's race, so I scheduled it right away.

I had a lot of things to do before leaving on Friday and that made this week feel a bit stressed. I hope I can avoid that on the week before Cocodona. I need to start packing/organizing way earlier and I hope that I can get my work life into good shape before then as well. That will definitely help me have a better race.

We had a bad thunderstorm on Thursday night so I had to hit the treadmill. I'm glad for that option, but I also kinda hate it. I didn't run as many miles as prescribed. I probably would have hit 80+ miles on the week had I done all the work my coach wrote down.

It sounds like I'm complaining, but really I do love all of the training that I've been doing. That's half the fun of getting to run a race like Cocodona. I couldn't do it if I didn't love this stuff.

Almost got to 70 miles this week. Minor scare with my left hamstring, but I think it's okay. Another big loop on Saturday where my last mile was my fastest. Feeling pretty darn well heading into the peak volume weeks.

After being sick last week I really wanted to get after it, but my body was still not 100%. Sadly, I skipped the strength workouts. It was definitely still a good week of training and it ended with a bang: running 21 miles at Frozen Head State Park, TN.
