I created a web app to help my crew and it might be useful to other people as well. It's meant to be used on mobile devices and ideally should be added to your home screen for easy of use.

The main features are:

  • Paged list of "Crewable" Aid Stations

  • Google Map link to each aid station + start/finish and Bumble Bee Ranch

  • Listed features of the aid station

  • Cutoff + countdown timer (only for aid stations with cutoffs)

  • Time in aid station count up timer

  • Detailed miles/vert to next crewable aid

  • Some stations have special notes from the runners guide

I ran out of time to include the aid station menu, but since I mostly plan on using my own food that was the easiest item to drop.

You can click the gear icon in the lower left corner to see a "key" of the symbols and also reset all the "time in aid stations".

I really hope this helps my crew and maybe yours too. That being said, it should be considered a "use at your own risk" kind of thing. I tested it as well as I could given the short amount of development time.

My son and I started working on it together last weekend. I'm grateful to have a kid following in my programming footsteps who actually understands some of the newer web app frameworks better than I do. He was a huge help and this was one of the only ways to include him in my Cocodona prep.

Full taper + heat training this week. Trying to sleep a lot, eat a lot and generally recover to full strength. I did one more hill workout and blasted downhill to get the quads ready. I wish it was hotter here in Cincinnati.

Weekly Wrap (04/16)

After a huge week like the last one, I knew I would have a recovery week. It turns out I was more beat up than I had hoped to be. I struggled to get the miles this week, and I skipped the planned Friday workout. Hopefully my body bounces back in the taper.
