Most of my week was spent enjoying spring break in Washington DC with my oldest son. Vacations are great but the running rarely stops completely. I look forward to running in new locations and experiencing my vacations at an 8 minute pace. I got in three good runs while in DC. Then when we got back home I hit my favorite loop a couple of times and even had a nice trail ten-miler to finish off the week.

With all that said, it was still a very low mileage week for me. The lowest this year so far. Hopefully this down week let me recover from the 50 mile race and from the training I've been doing lately. Rest so that we can "absorb the training" as I've heard it said.

Next week will be my peak volume week and I'm really looking forward to that challenge.

Tune Up Race: 50 Mile Midnight Madness

The week of training before my tune up race was a little different but definitely not a full taper. I will have a full write up of the race itself. This just covers the normal training.
