This website is going to be my attempt to document my entire journey to get to the starting line and run the 2023 edition of the Cocodona 250. If you don't know what that is – it's a very long race in Arizona. A two-hundred and fifty mile foot race in Arizona.

My name is Aaron Wagner. I'm a 46 year old guy from Cincinnati, Ohio and although I've lived here most of my life, I spent seven wonderful years living in Arizona. My wife and I were engaged in the Grand Canyon. We have lots of friends there. We've had many adventures there. It is a state like no other and running this race is a dream I've had for about two and a half years now.

I'm going to cover the "Why" in another post. Probably several posts.

I'll probably also cover the "How" and sprinkle in more about myself and the "What" of ultra running as I get this thing going.

It would be really awesome to include other voices and perspectives on this site but I don't know if I'll be able to pull that off, so no promises. Training for the race is going to be hard enough.

Ok. That should do it for the welcome. Thanks for reading.

My Ultra Running Journey

The pandemic. How many people took up ultra running during these last few years because of gyms being closed or they just had more time. I'd like to think that I would have done it anyway. My running journey had already begun eight months prior.
